ABOUT EARTH SCIENCE DESIGN (ESD)
PRESENT
Our firm offers interior, exterior, community, and ecosystem design services and research for a new type of design that is built on principles of respect for other life forms, clean water, clean air, and sustainable land use. We have two components. First, is our design firm itself that is hired by various clients for design work. Second, is our design research institute at which we conduct the latest in scientific and creative research to inform our work.
HISTORY
Our design concept began in 2011 when we engaged in hundreds of hours of research into geo-science, mathematics, phenomenology, critical theory, basic principles of design, color, biology, history, and non-violence. At first, we intended to build a typical design firm that would offer non-violent, non-extractive sourcing, harmonious environments, and strategies that would improve the lives of the humans who used them. With coming concerns of climate change and global warming, we deepened our concept to illuminate the importance of co-existence with all life forms, true sustainability, and careful relationships with the environment in which we construct our living spaces. Through ten years of diligent research into design concepts, science, and implementation, we officially launched Earth Science Design in Bozeman, Montana, and in San Diego, California in 2021.

Earth Science Design is constantly innovating with new visions of the human, creative inspiration, commitments to non-violent co-existence with other species, and our design solutions that move us into the future.
Minimizing negative environmental impacts and engaging with nature rather than forcing nature to yield to an unsustainable vision is the only way to thrive now and into the future.
