Small Space Vegan Kitchen Design
Small space sustainable, Vegan kitchen design holds any number of possibilities for you to transform rooms within your living space. The space shouldn’t limit the design potential. Many people who live in urban areas like coastal cities, NYC, LA, and SF are working with smaller spaces. They want to reorganize their lifestyles and redesign their spaces to reflect this. As a Vegan, the design of your kitchen can greatly facilitate your vegan cooking routine and even help you eat healthier. You may feel constrained by your space and not sure how to have the kitchen you really want. Here are are a couple of ideas that can get you started on your redesign:
Use vertical space
Instead of looking laterally for space, consider looking up. This could involve installing hanging storage that can be used to store kitchen utensils or kitchen garden plants.
Use the backs of cabinets
In any small room, unused space can be an opportunity for storage or decoration. Small idle spaces between doors and windows or on the side of cabinets could be used for storage, hooks or even decoration, such as hanging a mirror that can create the illusion of space.
Put away appliances you don’t need
Vegan cooking often involves a high level of preparation. Many vegans rely on appliances such as a vegetable spiralizer, a vitamix blender, a food processor or an instant pot. To save counter space, it’s important to put away appliances you don’t need and find easy ways to store appliances, such as shelving on countertops or within cupboards.
Make sure your wall outlets are conveniently placed
When you regularly use multiple appliances, you need access to wall appliances. During your home redesign or home remodel you should ensure that you don’t bury any outlets behind cabinets or in places where they are inaccessible.
Separate Fridge and Freezer
If you are working with a small space kitchen you may need to separate your fridge and freezer, particularly if you need extra freezer space for preserving fresh fruit like seasonal berries and veg.
Spice Racks and Drawers
Spices are an important element of vegan cooking, but rifling through a cluttered spice cabinet does not make for a stress-free cooking experience. Spice racks and drawers can be purchased separately or built into cabinets so you can organize your spices and reach them easily.
Well Organized Storage Space and Mason Jars
Vegan cooking usually calls for multiple fresh and dry ingredients, and these all need to be stored somewhere. Your storage space should be well organized to reflect this need. Kitchen cabinets can be organized internally by pull out racks and shelving. Shelving and hooks can be installed on the inner doors of cabinets. Storing dry foods in tidy mason jars could achieve balance between reducing visual clutter and keeping things visible and accessible.
Counterspace and Pull-Out Counter Space
Counter space is a challenge for every kitchen, and maximizing counter space is a key goal for a small-space vegan kitchen. In small spaces, not every surface or furnishing has to be permanent. Pull-out counter space could be a handy solution to create as-needed space for food prep. Appliances and spices can be easily returned to well-organized cabinets.
